Always a late bloomer, I graduated from high school in 1969 and took a decade to complete my undergraduate work in the fine arts at the University of Alaska. My initial work experience in educational administration inspired me to pursue a graduate degree in arts administration, awarded by the University of Iowa in 1981. After a rewarding career in the arts during which I traveled the world, I was honored by the opportunity to work in philanthropy. Philanthropy, the love of humankind, enabled me to reach more of my full potential. In each of my careers, I coached and mentored others. I developed a facilitative leadership style that encouraged me to invest in people and lead them toward greater potential. Now, in retirement I still feel called to serve. On more than one occasion I have found myself assisting family and friends who are in their final transition. I think I can help with the space between retirement and death--the space in which I currently reside.
